This is skiing at the Canyons yesterday (3-13-24). Julie and I were getting first tracks a lot of times and finding patches of untracked later in the day. It was a great ski day!

This video was from late in the day while skiing Bergman Bowl. We noticed a minimally tracked trail just to the side of the lift and found a way into it. Here's our adventure skiing in this area.

Julie and I are on our way to ski in Summit County Colorado with Jinny and Dan. We're going to ski at Breckenridge, Keystone and Vail. Here is the Glenwood Canyon, and luckily with a train too!

A few days ago I decided to resurrect my RC models that I'd not flown in at least four years. The batteries charged up well, the engine started without too much problem and the two models I flew today radios worked well. I flew at the Saratoga RC Model Flight Park and I had a lot of fun!

I learned there was a Sports Car Club of America, SCCA autocross race at the Utah State Fairgrounds yesterday! It was fun watching the guys race for a few hours. As usual you could ride after signing a wavier if the car owner allowed but I couldn't because I'd had an eye surgery Friday and couldn't be jarred around like that. Undertow's Middle Section New Routing Sept. 15-23

Undertow's middle section has been re-routed eliminating the large right hand right turn. The turn finished aiming the rider into a large pine tree trunk, they cut the tree down and you had the be careful of the stump.

I love my MC-3, they provide similar control to my old Salomon SX-90 equipe without the pain.... But what is happening now, did Apex give up the expert end of ski boots?
The liner of my MC3s failed and I then went to the XPs and they perform as well as the MC3. I did like the toe cup on the MC3 because it made putting the frames on to the inner boot easier.

Is it hard and scary
Yes it is a little scary because the landing is blind so if someone has fallen you can't do anything to avoid landing on them. It has never happen to me or my wife and we ride this trail often.
Nah yea this is too bloody cool mate. You can actually drive trains. It's expensive as hell but you actually get to drive an engine with cars or just the engine for 14 miles around. Im saving to do the ASLO and EMD experience, 2 trips for $1170
Notice that at no point does the jib sheet get eased at all.

conveyor belt is out of sync with the chair coming round (imho) - over here in France, as you're moving on the belt, the chair "scoops" you when you're on the belt, so no stopping & standing and so no "thigh thump" :)
I think they have it delayed to allow Jerrys who can't get on more time to load
We have an "un-branded" Doppelmayr 4 person lift at local ski with a carpet that is just like this one shown - takes you to the edge, you stop and smack! Now I'm not a lift designer, but I would fully agree that you should be picked up mid-carpet. I've also been on lifts that pick up mid-carpet.
*laughs in having to use your own strength to push yourself to the line * *giggles in getting smashed in the shins by a fixed grip chair after standing stiff as a board when the chair comes in *
You are a brave man Gary. Well done. I remember having to lean forward a WHOLE LOT MORE on these planks to get them to turn .. try it next time !!

Great example of technique being evolved from and through gear/technology available at any given era, not the other way around.
Why bother with an 8 person chair when only 4 people get on.
I guess you think they should wait for 4 more people?
It all depends on how many people there are. I've got on a 6 person lift with 2 people total because there isn't many people and I've seen the same chair be full every chair back to back for hours because it was much more busy. What I'm more curious about is why bother with the conveyor, only time I've seen it used on a lift is so the chair didn't have to slow down, here you stop anyways.

We did a lift with a conveyor at Vail and disliked it as snowboarders. I don't see the benefit at all. Don't get me started on a 8 person side by side left, OMG that sucks.
